Hard to say. I work on it on and off. It's been "on" lately, and I'd like to get out a first release before it goes off again. I now have all the compression "commands" implemented, but some maps are clearly still wrong, so I need to figure out why. The map I posted here looks better since I posted it - the only thing wrong is that not all the stained glass windows get filled in correctly. I think the map layers are fine, though, and it's just a display order/transparency issue.
Fixed a couple more maps last night. There was an issue with reading a compression parameter as unsigned instead of signed. There are still maps (like that forest one) that look like complete garbage and i do not know why. There are four of those forest maps and the other three look just fine.
The Secret of Mana Editor has been an on-and-off side-project of mine since sometime in 2004. The current version is a buggy pre-release, the latest build of which you can find on the message board or dropbox. Hopefully this project will one day (soon) become an all-around write-your-own-SNES-game editor on the level of other lovely programs like PK Hack, Temporal Flux, and Lunar Magic.
Features:
- Map editing
- Dialogue and event editing
- Music editing
- Music sample editing
- Font editing
- Tile editing
- Tileset editing
- World map editing
- Rom expansion from 16 to 32 megabit
- Automatic rewriting of game code to allow dynamically sized elements to occupy more space in the rom
Planned features:
- Sprite editing
- Animation editing
- Misc data editing
- Enemy AI editing
- Sound effect editing
- Automated bug fixes / game engine changes

Nice. It always feels nice to see screenshots of a complete map of a game you have a special nostalgic feeling for :D
